Prestigious Award Recognizes Outstanding Work and Leadership in Various Fields and Industries

Andrew S. Janet is a Partner at Janet, Janet & Suggs, LLC and serves as Co-Chair of the Sexual Abuse Division where he focuses on representing victims of negligence and other wrongful conduct in sexual abuse cases, high-stakes medical malpractice suits, environmental litigation, and other professional negligence cases, including on an individual case basis and in a class action setting.

Andrew and his team were the first to successfully defend the constitutionality of the Maryland Child Victims Act in a Maryland Circuit Court in March 2024 on behalf of victims allowing sex abuse lawsuits to move forward no matter when the abuse occurred. As a result, Andrew has helped lead the fight for victims in Maryland by taking on powerful institutions, such as the Archdioceses of Baltimore and Washington among others, who have covered up abuse for years harming the lives of innocent victims.
Additionally, Andrew assumed a leading role in advocating for hundreds of abuse survivors in litigation against University of Southern California (USC) regarding allegations of sexual misconduct by its former gynecologist, Dr. George Tyndall. Andrew’s efforts on behalf of 139 plaintiffs who brought litigation against USC related to sexual abuse, assault, and harassment by Dr. Tyndall helped effectuate a $852 million resolution with the university. The groundbreaking settlement was the largest known recovery in a sexual abuse case in U.S. history, as well as the largest known personal injury settlement against a university.
